In-Home Recreation volunteers are those who are willing to share their time to make a difference in the life of an individual who has been living with dementia. Volunteers visit our clients once per week at the client’s home. The volunteer will engage the client in a meaningful activity during their visit, such as: conversation, walking, reading, playing cards, or some other mutually agreed activity that is important to the client. In addition to providing companionship to our client, this program will also provide relief for the caregiver. Currently need volunteers for the following locations: Kinmount Cobourg Apsley Peterborough
Responsibilities:
- Each weekly visit will involve facilitated activities that will address social, physical, emotional, spiritual, cognitive, or vocational domains of wellness based on the needs of the persons living with dementia.
- Visit the client regularly, on a mutually agreeable time and day.
- Call or email a client ahead of time if for any reason a visit needs to be
postponed or rescheduled. - Inform assigned supervisor as to any changes in the client’s or volunteer’s
situation, which would affect the visit; this includes address changes, holidays,
illness, etc. - Report any observations, comments or concerns regarding the client or the
match to the assigned supervisor. - Volunteers are visitors and as such will limit their duties to socialization and
companionship activities only. - Report volunteer hours, either through our volunteer database or by direct email
to the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

The public can book guided group tours with us any time of the year. It’s wonderful to see their reactions upon seeing a Moose or bear for the first time!
Guided tours are a great way for us to educate the public and create awareness of what we do and it’s also a good way to raise funds for our registered charity.
Guided tours are outdoor walking events on unpaved paths. One tour take approx. 2 hours
Time committment: Minimum one morning per week 8:30 am-1 pm. Training will be provided.
Event Setup: Arrive early to assist with setup; Set up registration tables and signage; Prepare and organize materials (e.g., handouts, flyers)
Event Attendance: Greet and check-in participants; Provide information and answer questions
Program Help: Assist with program activities and games; Support participants as needed (e.g., providing guidance, answering questions)
Post-Event Duties: Assist with cleanup and breakdown; Gather feedback from participants; Post event follow-up/feedback

Brad’s Place Addiction Treatment of Southern Georgian Bay is a not for profit, charitable organization that strives to support youth and young adults struggling with substance abuse and addiction that want to obtain a positive lifestyle by decreasing their need for drugs and increasing positive coping strategies through personalized counselling services.

Brad's Place offers a therapeutic approach to a sober, healthy lifestyle for teenagers and young adults through offering empathetic personal and group counselling from honest, reliable, skilled counsellors within Simcoe County.
- Provide regular visits to assigned older adult clients, offering companionship, conversation & engagement in meaningful activities
- Perform regular outbound phone calls to assigned older adult clients
- Report any health or safety concerns to the Supervisor
- Provide monthly activity reports to Supervisor
- Drive clients to designated destinations
- Assist clients to and from vehicle
- Report any concerns of clients with deteriorating health and/or other needs to the Program Coordinator
- Complete all required training and attend on-going additional training sessions as needed
- Report to the Transportation Coordinator for all scheduling and availability

The Event Planning Volunteer will assist with the coordination and execution of various events that help raise awareness and support for Christine's Place. These events include various fundraising events, community outreach programs, workshops and more. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for community engagement, event planning and supporting a good cause.
Key Responsibilities:

Event Coordination:

Assist with the planning, organization and execution of charity events.

Help secure event venues, coordinate logistics (e.g., catering, transportation, equipment) and ensure all event materials are ready.

Work with vendors, suppliers and sponsors to ensure smooth event operations.

Volunteer Management:

Help recruit, train and manage event volunteers.

Ensure volunteers understand their roles and responsibilities during the event.

Marketing & Promotion:

Assist with promoting events through social media, MailChimp newsletters and local community outreach.

Help design and distribute event flyers and promotional materials.

Guest Services:

Coordinate guest lists and registration for events.

Assist with attendee inquiries, including providing information about the event schedule, location and logistics.

On-Site Event Support:

Be present at events to assist with setup, registration and smooth running of activities.

Assist with thank-you notes, follow-up emails and post-event surveys.

Experience in event planning or volunteer coordination is an asset but not required.

Basic knowledge of Canva, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Drive and/or event management tools are an asset.

Volunteers will be responsable for meeting with a clients weekly or bi-weekly to add enrichment to peoples lives. Clients are blind or have vision loss to some degree, which often requires adpaments to life. Volunteers are required to socialse with them and add normal contact back in their lives after the effects of the pandemic. They can go for walks, visit community gardens, really anything the pair would enjoy. The requirement are up to the two people who are paired.
Art in the open air- it doesn’t get much better than that! Similar to the Backstage Volunteer, this is a chance to help create some magic, plus enjoy the outdoors! We need energetic, team players to help install and break down our outdoor events- this is an all-access pass to summer festival fun.

Wiidookdaadiwin is a lookout site built to honour and acknowledge Indigenous and settler relations in Simcoe County. There are Indigenous plantings and story boards in both Ojibway and Engish, and a tremendous vistia lookout of Georgian Bay and the region.
We are looking for summer volunteers to assist with daily operations such as opening and closing the site. This will require the volunteer to have a car and ideally live locally. Volunteers will also be required to particiapte in special events such as the official grand opening in June, 2025. Further terms and dates for these roles are negotiable. We are looking for 3-5 volunteers for the summer from May to September, 2025.
The site is located at 2816 George Johnston Road, Springwater, Ontario.
