| Description (Service) | When Environment Canada issues an extreme heat or cold alert, rest areas are available to residents for relief from extreme weather conditions. These can include public buildings such as libraries or community centres during regular business hours. Other buildings such as malls or cinemas that have air conditioning/heating could also be used. Residents of Muskoka District can visit the designated locations to get relief in times of extreme heat and humidity or extreme cold. If you need any other assistance staying warm in the extreme cold, the District's Emergency Shelter program can help you. Please call 705-645-2412 for further assistance.
