Description (Service) COVID-19 Response
Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, Muskoka Seniors Home Assistance has implemented the following changes until further notice:
  • Call ahead to make an appoint at the office
  • Frozen Meals (weekly delivery) are still available, call to make arrangement
  • Income Tax services (CVITP) available, call to make arrangement
  • Friendly Phone Call are available
  • Friendship Luncheon - services suspended
  • Interactive Zoom Sessions 
  • Transportation available, call to make arrangements
Regular Service:
Support for older adults to helps them remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible

Friendly Visiting:
Provides social contact with client to develop a caring relationship

Telephone Reassurance:
Maintains an ongoing telephone link for security and social contact

Friendship Luncheons:
Luncheons held in the following communities: Call for schedule
  • Baysville bi-weekly
  • Dorset once a month
  • Huntsville weekly on Tuesdays, cost for luncheon $10
Frozen Meals On Wheels Program: Available for anyone
Individual entrees are $6.25 and an individual dessert or soup is $1.60. Free weekly delivery in Huntsville. Orders must be placed on Mon.  Arrangements can be made to pick up meals at the office Mon-Fri by calling ahead. Special diets for home dialysis patients, diabetics, and renal, lactose, celiac, gluten free restrictions, purees are available on request.

Transportation Service:
Helps seniors with no means of transport to medical appointments, drugstore, shopping, etc. There is a $10 round trip charge within Huntsville, longer distances can be arranged at $.45/Km.  Call 705-789-6676 ext 28 for bookings.

Medical Appointments - Out of Area:
Provides transportation for seniors 60 and over, living in North Muskoka, to medical appointments, hospital procedures, rehabilitation, and alternative therapies outside Muskoka for a flat fee ($75 plus parking). 

Free income tax preparation:
Through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program for clients on a fixed income. There is an eligibility criteria for this program. For more details see MUS2090.

Public Comments As part of their transportation services, will provide rides to COVID-19 vaccination clinics.

Boundaries Northern Muskoka - Novar (north) to Utterson-Port Sydney (south), Dorset-Baysville (east) to Aspdin (west)
Eligibility Anyone not in long term care.
