Description
Description (Service) | Provides emotional, social and spiritual support to palliative individuals and their families in home, hospital, nursing homes and at the Algonquin Grace Residential Hospice. Volunteers provide companionship. Respite for family members. Bed-side vigil and simple comfort measures. Ongoing training provided for visiting volunteers. Bereavement follow-up is offered on a one-to-one basis. Seven week Peer Support Grief Program with a trained facilitator offered twice a year and open to community members. Children's grief and recovery programs are run as needed. |
